NO HERBICIDES ARE LABELED FOR USE ON LEATHERLEAF FERN AT PRESENT. Good we
suppression has been obtained in young fern beds using the following herbicides at
four month application intervals. Once the fern beds'are well established, twice
yearly herbicide applications appear satisfactory if proper sanitation of roads,
aisles and fernery perimeters is maintained. All plots were thoroughly weeded
immediately prior to herbicide application. Yields of herbicide treated plots have
been equal to or greater than control plots.
