'Thc oreshan Unity practically owns the town. It is a
peculiar relijgous organization, believing tihat nan irinhbits
the interior of thue earth, ind not tho exterior. They prac-
tise celibacy, men and womon occupying separate dorrmitories.
The Unity has a comnunistic angle, as members turn over all
their property to the cult when joining, but receive no refund
should they withdraw.
The other inhabitants of -tero are eng;aed generally in
farming and growing citrus.

a visit. Arthur Douglas Teed, son of Uyrus R. Teod, founder
of the Koreahan Unity, estnbliUhed an art gallery in the
colony containing about 50 paintini,al some of them world
famous. The ploture gallery is also used as an opera house.
