CLTMTOLOGICAL REPORT, 1955

D. So Harrison and E. King, Jr.*

Summary

The report contained in the following nine pages is a summary of
weather data for the calendar year 1955. Only pertinent information on rain-
fall, temperature and evaporation is included in the analyses Dai}y
temperature and rainfall averages are computed on a 30-year period (1924-53),
while monthly averages are computed on a 33-year basis (1924-56).

Rainfall: Total rainfall for the year 1955 amounted to 50.40 inches, 6.76
inches elow the 33-year normal. Deficient months were January, February,
March, April, May, August, September, October and November. Highest month
was June with 14.45 inches, or 5.06 inches above the 33-year normal. Lowest
month was November with only 0.42 inches or 1.73 inches below the 33-year
average. Only June, July and Lecember were above average in total
precipitation.

Temperature: There were only two days in which minimum temperature reached
32 or below January 14 and 30. All other temperatures were within two or
three degrees of the 30-year mean.
