) SPRING FLOWERS.

The path (A' our life
, i^ Is narrow and steep,
uA. / s this pictured path

But beside it still
Lovely flowers spring,
For goodness and love
Are in everything.
O.e Kind friends, pretty toys,
Round our childhood wait,
We pass to that road
Through its pleasant gate.

The prisoned water sleeping below;
There is nothing like that swift delight!--
Rudolf and Rosa could skate till night.
Already the sky is tinged with red;
The sun sinks down to his ocean bed.
"Brother and sister will see it set
With very real grief and regret;
For who can tell but a thaw may
come?
Signs of it there are certainly some:

Thus the Winter closes in:
Soon will follow sweet spring flowers ;
Soon the tender leaves of green, "
Bursting forth, will shade our bow'rs.
..lay, with blooms of silver bright, :
Hyac-inths and lilies fair, -,,.
Soon will bless the children's sight,
Soon will scent the fresh, sweet air. b A-

" Happily they'll daisies pick,

joyfully they'll run and play. A
Like t'he bees and butterflies,
