Coqui
(Eleutherodactylus
Portorricensis)

El coquf, una ranita que no mide
mas de una pulgada, es native de
Puerto Rico. Su piel es suave y
casi transparent, y su color cambia
rapidamente para confundirse
con su entorno.

Su nombre se deriva del sonido
de su melodioso canto "co-qui", que
arrulla a nifios y grandes alrededor de
toda la Isla. Se esconde en lugares himedos
y oscuros durante el dfa y aparece al
anochecer para deleitarnos con su
melodfa. Su canto es mas dulce
y jubiloso despes
de la Iluvia.
