Re: Rules of the Southwest Florida
Water Management District

Dear Ms. Cloud:

We are submitting herewith three sets of the amended rules of
the Southwest Florida Water Management District, recodified and
renumbered from Title 16 to Title 40, Florida Administrative
Code. Enclosed please find the following:

1. Two magnetic diskettes, onto which are recorded the rules
in the form in which they are to appear in the FAC.

We are submitting the original set on diskettes upon the
approval of your office. You may recall the difficulty
we found in getting the originals typed so that they can
be optically scanned. In your proposed Rule 1S-1.002(1),
typing with an OCR-Printing and Publishing No. 3 typing
element is specified. Unfortunately, IBM has been unable
to furnish us with this typeface on a printwheel that can
be used in our IBM Office System 6/442 information processor.

It is our understanding that your office has agreed to run
our diskettes through your System 6 to produce magnetic cards.
The cards then can be read into a mag card typewriter to
produce originals in a form that can be read by your optical
scanning equipment.

The original set of rules is recorded onto the two diskettes
as follows:

Diskette #1: Job A -- Contents
Job B -- Chapter 40D-0
Job C -- Chapter 40D-1
Job D -- Chapter 40D-2

Diskette #2: Job A -- Chapter 40D-3
Job B -- Chapter 40D-4
Job C -- Chapter 40D-6
Job D -- Chapter 40D-8

2. Certifications and summary material for all chapters of
the originals, to be attached to the originals when they
are produced.

3. Two correct copies of each chapter, typed onto legal-size
paper, with amendments coded by underlining added material
and striking through deleted material. A certification and
summary material is attached to each chapter of each of
of the two sets.

Please note that, pursuant to earlier discussions with your
office, the text for Rules 40D-0.061 and 1.901 (previously
numbered 16J-0.003 and 16J-0.40, respectively) has been omitted.
The text for these two rules, which list all the basin boun-
daries and contain all District forms, remains unchanged from
the present form now in effect.

Thank you for your assistance in meeting the requirements of
the proposed new rules of the Department of State. We appre-
ciate your providing us with a means of complying with those
rules.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

L. M. Blain
