RE: Inspection Program for QWIP Repaired Wells
Pursuant to our phone conversation December 13, 1979 the following in-
formation is provided in response to a question raised at the October,
1979 Alafia Basin Board meeting regarding an inspection program for
QWIP repaired wells.
Based on records held by Enforcement, the wells (212) were inspected by
QWIP personnel in November/December 1978. The inspection responsibility
was assigned to Enforcement in February 1979.
It was our intent to inspect the wells annually in November/December.
After inspecting approximately 50 of the 212 wells this year it was
apparent November/December is an inappropriate time frame for various
reasons. In some cases we needed assistance from the farmer to locate
wells, which he could not do because of working Fall crops. Also, with
irrigation in progress, if a well was found uncapped it could not be
effectively determined if it would be flowing/non-flowing because of
It has been determined that February will be an appropriate time to
inspect the wells. It will be carried out then. A sample of the in-
spection form is attached.
A report of conditions can be reported to the Alafia Basin Baord after
the February inspection, if desired.
