MEMORANDUM

TO: William D. Courser, Assistant Director, Resource Regulation Department

FROM: Bruce C. Wirth, Hydrologist, Resource Regulation Department t0

RE: minimumm Flows
d4liua U12720 Withlacoochee River at Wysong Dam
Station 02312700 Outlet River at Panacoochee Retreats

The following minimum flows were derived by using the criteria for establishing
minimum rate of flow under 40D-1.601 SWFWMD rules and regulations.

I. Outlet River at Panacoochee Retreats

The following flows were derived by using the period of record from
October 1963 to September 1981. All flows are in cubic feet per second
"cfs".

October 70 cfs April 89 cfs
November 98 cfs May 78 cfs
December 91 cfs June 74 cfs
January 115 cfs July 49 cfs
February 103 cfs August 49 cfs
March 98 cfs September 68 cfs

The following flows were derived by using the period of record from
October 1964 to September 1981. The reason for dropping 1963 from the
data was due to the fact that a structure was in place at that time
therefore it is not a true reflection of the present flow.

Because of the above I would recommend the following minimum flows be used.

October* 70 cfs April* 89 cfs
November* 98 cfs May* 78 cfs
December 96 cfs June 80 cfs
January* 115 cfs July 65 cfs
February* 103 cfs August 66 cfs
March* 98 cfs September 82 cfs

"* No change from 1963-1981 results

II. Withlacoochee River at Wysong Dam

The following flows were derived by using the period of record from
October 1966 to July 1981. Due to the fact that only sixteen (16)
years of record is available, only the four (4) lowest monthly mean
discharges were used.
