LAKE LEVELS IN HIGHLANDS COUNTY WITHIN THE PEACE RIVER BASIN
UNDER CHAPTER 16J, PART 8, FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE

NOW IS THE TIME TO PROCEED WITH THE PUBLIC WORKSHOP SCHEDULED
FOR THIS DATE AND TIME,
THIS WORKSHOP IS TO EXPLAIN THE LAKE LEVELS SUGGESTED FOR ^2
IMPLEMENTATION IN HIGHLANDS COUNTY WITHIN THE PEACE RIVER BASIN, 4,
UNDER CHAPTER 373, FLORIDA STATUTES. LAKES BONNET, DENTON, DINNER,/v
JACKSON, LITTLE LAKE JACKSON, LITTLE RED WATER AND SEBRING HAVE BEEN ,
SELECTED AND WILL BE REGULATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDED
LAKE LEVELS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PREVENTING SIGNIFICANT HARM TO THE
WATER RESOURCES OR ECOLOGY, AS WELL AS THE PROTECTION OF NON-
CONSUMPTIVE USES OF THE AREA AROUND THE LAKES IN HIGHLANDS COUNTY. THE
STAFF WILL EXPLAIN WHY AND HOW THE LAKE LEVELS ARE TO BE ESTABLISHED
BEFORE THE PUBLIC ASKS ANY QUESTIONS.
A NUMBER OF PEOPLE MAY WISH TO SPEAK AND MAY DO SO IN Ail
ORDERLY MANNER. THEREFORE, I REQUESTPAND EXPECT YOUR COOPERATION AND
WILL ATTEMPT TO GIVE EVERYONE A REASONABLE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK. SHOULD

LAKE LEVELS AND WHY LAKE LEVELS ARE BEING RECOMMENDED AND HOW
THEY ARE ESTABLISHED AND WILL BE APPLIED TO THE LAKES.
