LAKE LEVELS IN THE PEACE RIVER BASIN

NOW IS THE TIME TO PROCEED WITH THE PUBLIC HEARING AS SCHEDULED
FOR THIS DATE AND TIME.
THIS HEARING IS TO RECEIVE TESTIMONY AND EVIDENCE ON THE LAKE
LEVELS SUGGESTED FOR IMPLEMENTATION ON LAKES ANGELO, ANOKA, GLENADA,
LELIA, LETTA, LITTLE BONNET, LOTELA AND TULANE IN THE PEACE RIVER BASIN
UNDER CHAPTER 373, FLORIDA STATUTES. THE LAKES HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO
BE REGULATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDED LAKE LEVELS FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PREVENTING SIGNIFICANT HARM TO THE WATER RESOURCES OR
ECOLOGY, AS WELL AS THE PROTECTION OF NON-CONSUMPTIVE USES OF THE AREA
OF THESE LAKES IN HIGHLANDS COUNTY PORTION OF THE PEACE RIVER BASIN,
THE STAFF WILL EXPLAIN WHY AND HOW THE LAKE LEVELS ARE TO BE ESTABLISHED
BEFORE THE PUBLIC ASKS ANY QUESTIONS,
A NUMBER OF PEOPLE MAY WISH TO SPEAK AND MAY DO SO IN AN ORDERLY
MANNER, THEREFORE, I REQUEST AND EXPECT YOUR COOPERATION AND WILL
ATTEMPT TO GIVE EVERYONE A REASONABLE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK, SHOULD
YOU WISH TO TESTIFY, SIGN A SLIP WHICH IS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR OR FROM
THE STAFF, AND WHEN THE LAKE IS BEING DISCUSSED AND YOUR NAME IS CALLED,
STEP FORWARD TO THE TABLE, GIVE YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS FOR THE CONVENIENCE
OF RECORDING IT AS PART OF THE RECORD,.
THE HEARING OFFICER WILL CONSIDER THE TESTIMONY AND PUBLIC
COMMENTS GIVEN AT THE HEARING IN THE RECOMMENDED ORDER TO THE DISTRICT
GOVERNING BOARDLO ADOPTION OF THE RULE CHANGE.

AT THIS HEARING.
3.. WILLIAM D. COURSER INTRODUCES THOSE EXHIBITS USED AND TO BE PART
OF THE EVIDENCE; AND EXPLAINS THE PROCEDURE FOLLOWED IN SETTING
LAKE LEVELS AND WHY LAKE LEVELS ARE BEING RECOMMENDED AND HOW
THEY ARE ESTABLISHED AND WILL BE APPLIED TO THE LAKES.
4, OTHER STAFF REPRESENTATIVES ARE PRESENT TO GIVE TESTIMONY TO
SUPPLEMENT THE DISTRICT'S PRESENTATION,
