Governing Board Elects Vice Chair

The Governing Board elected a new vice chair
and two newly appointed members received the
oath of office at the Board's May meeting.
Monroe "Al" Coogler Jr., of Lecanto, was
elected to serve as vice chair of the Board. He is
S filling the position formerly held by Brenda
Menendez. Coogler is an attorney in Inverness. He
was appointed to the Governing Board in March
1999, with his term ending March 2003. Coogler is
the chair of the Governing Board Regulation
Committee and serves as a member of the Finance
and Administration Committee. He is also chair ex
officio of the Withlacoochee River Basin Board.
The newly sworn-in Board members are: .
Thomas "Tom" G. Dabney II, 49, of Sarasota,
the owner of Gulf Coast Property Services, Inc. and Monroe "Al" Coogler Jr. Thomas "Tom" G. Dabney II Pamela "Pam" L. Fentress
a partner in Hi Hat Ranch. He is filling the seat Vice Chair New Board Member New Board Member
S formerly held by Rebecca M. Eger. His term ends
March 2004. Dabney will serve as co-chair ex officio Joe L. Davis Jr. Her term ends March 2004. Fentress confirmed by the Florida Senate. The Governing
of the Manasota Basin Board. will serve as co-chair ex officio of the Peace River Board sets policy for the District, whose mission is
