RE: APPOINTMENT OF CHUCK LITTLEJOHN AND TERRY LEWIS TO THE
ENVIRONMENTAL EFFICIENCY STUDY COMMISSION
Dear Senatr vJ .ston:
The Florida Chamber of Commerce is pleased to submit the
names of Chuck Littlejohn and Terry Lewis for your
consideration of their appointment to the Environmental
Efficiency Study Commission.
CS/CS for SB 432 establishes the Environmental Efficiency
Study Commission and provides for 15 members. Five of those.
members are appointed by the Governor.
The Florida Chamber of Commerce worked quite hard in the
1986 Session to convince our legislators that such a study
commission was needed. The business community has at times
been extremely frustrated with time delays and additional
expenses associated with overlapping and duplicative
environmental regulations. The Chamber has a long and proud
history of supporting stringent environmental laws.
However, we also firmly believe there should be a detailed
inquiry and study on the duplication issue.
Mr. Littlejohn and Mr. Lewis would be excellent choices.
These gentlemen have extensive knowledge of the permitting
regulations in Florida, as well as day to day experiences
with local and state environmental agencies.
We respectfully encourage you to appoint Mr. Littlejohn and
