TOh rILLSBOROUGH RIVER BASIN BOARD MEMBERS

REi Governing Board Action on the Basin Board Cncept
and the Tentative Budget and Mllages


On July 11, following extensive public testimony and discusaaon, the
Governing Board voted to retain the existing Basin Board atructm. As you
are aware, the GoverniX Board was required to approve tentative Basin
Board and District mllages at the July 11 meeting in order to meet the
required Truth in UMlasge (TRIM) deadlines. FoBowig a presentation by
Executive Director Gary tuhl and lengthy d-lass;nn, the Governing Board
approved Bai Board mlllages which reflect a reditribution of funding
responsibilities for both the Basins and the District and in accordance with
tioe Basin responibilities outlined in Section 373.0695, Fllrida Statutes.
Thi resulted in a reduction of Basin Board lllages and an increase in the
District millage.

The Hillsborough river Basin Board mnillage was reduced from .61 to .51..
The District m large of .21, an increase from the proposed .14 was
approved to cover the majority of projects originally included in the Basin
Boards' budget.

These changes will be reviewed with you at your next meeting.
