CLEARWATER The Pinellas-Anclote River Basin
Board yesterday voted conditional approval to share in
the first-year financing of a two-year ,ater study by
the West Coast Regional Water Supply Authority.
Walt Walker, assistant general manager of the auth-
ority, told basin board members here that the authority
is asking the five river basin boards in the three-county
area to share in financing the study.
Board members of Pinellas-Anclote unanimously ap-
proved their share of the study financing, with the con-
dition that the other four basin boards approve their
The study will cost $294,000, Walker said, with the
authority asking the five boards for a total of $125,000
this year. The remaining $169,000 will be requested next
year, he said.
When completed, the study is expected to pinpoint
water needs and sources in Hillsborough, Pasco and
Pinellas counties after 1980.
The financing plan will be presented to the other '
basin boards at meetings later this month or next
month, Walker said.
