Jim Dawkins
Pasco Tribune Bureau Chief

Pinellas County, over the years, has clearly demonstrated its
irresponsibility regarding wellfield development. Mr. Kiser
should save his "crocodile tears". The people of Pasco and
Hillsborough Counties are not about to hand him a piece of
kleenex, let alone buy his story.

Mr. Jim Dawkins ^Ai, ,;
PASCO Pasco Tribune Bureau Chief ^nlxiCT

"COUNTY New Port Richey, Florida 33552

0 COMMSSIONsEaS Dear Jim:

In the City and State section of the Tribune of Sunday, May 23rd,
I was amazed at comments attributed to Pinellas County State Re-
K. .MIKE OLSN presentative, Curt Kiser.
CHAIRMAN
ODISRICT NO. 3
.O'OSITR..L. The statements I refer to are Kiser's description of Pinellas County
oULOHARBO "getting the short end of the stick for years" and that Pinellas
"NEWPORT RICHE. FL. County is "an under-dog and everybody is wiping their feet on them".

MATEw..PAHY. I believe it is high time that Mr. Kiser and some of his other
VICE CHAA Pinellas County friends learn that the only way we in the Tampa Bay
P.o..ox 5 area are going to solve our water problems and insure orderly growth
..wPOR.C.,e.E,. and development for future generations is to take a regional approach
toward water and wellfield development.
BILL HAMILTON
DISTRICT NO. I Pinellas County pays lip-service to the regional concept, but their
"SPO.Ao, x. actions indicate that they are pulling our leg. I refer to their
SAN ANTONIOFL. attempts to invalidate the water crop theory and change the compo-
sition of Swiftmud, as well as of condemnation of Pasco County
DISTRICT NO. ^ property in order to further their own water development plans.
RT. I BOX 106
LNoo LAKEs.L. Recent attempts to remove their Swiftmud representative, because
t ... he is not parochial enough for them, points this out even more
.o REES clearly.
DISTRICT NO. 4
4 E. MISSOURI AVE... Pasco County strongly believes in the.West Coast Regional Water
NIEW PORT RICHEY. FL.
-..... +upplv Authority and stands ready to help that organization become
MILL R NEWa viable force in solving regional water problems.
MILLER NEWTON
OR___________ Pasco County also strongly believes that we must retain a sensible
method of determining how much water can be extracted from a given
A...II..R....o land area. To throw out the water crop theory or any other unit of
measurement and pump water indiscriminately is an affront to the
thinking people of the Tampa Bay area.
