Dear Don:

At a meeting of the staffs of our member jurisdictions and your
representatives, J.B. Butler and John Wehle on September 28,
the question arose as to the longevity and capacity of the
Belleair, Clearwater, Dunedin combined well withdrawals. It
was suggested these wells, perhaps part or all of them, would
be phased out in the near future due to salt water intrusion,
high mineralization or other problems having to do with aquifer
capacities. The withdrawals for 1975 and our projected with-
drawals are as follows:

Existing
(1975) PROJECTED DEMANDS
Production 1980 1985 1990 1995 2000
Belleair 0.85 1.29 1.44 1.53 1.57 1.60
Clearwater* 7.14 9.59 9.59 9.59 9.59 9.59
Dunedin 3.29 5.32 6.08 6.62 6.95 7.21
11.28 16.20 17.11 17.74 18.11 18.40

Additional supplies purchased from Pinellas County Water System.

Please advise us, at your earliest opportunity if in your view
these wells can meet our projected demands as shown in the Table.

Sincerely,

Richard J. Hesse
