Mr. Derrill McAteer, Chairman
Governing Board of
Southwest Florida Water
Management District
Post Office Box 457
Brooksville, Florida 33512

Dear Derrill:

I appreciate your letter of October 9, 1974, offering the assistance and
cooperation of the Governing Board and District staff in solving the complex
problem of domestic water supply for the Tampa Bay region.

A recent letter from Jake Varn indicates that they intend to present the
water authority agreement to the Governor and Cabinet at the October 29th
meeting. They are also preparing a response to my letter which we should be
receiving shortly.

We will keep you and the staff fully informed of our efforts to assure the
formation of a water supply authority which will complement and not conflict
with the activities of the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Sincerely,
