WHEREAS the Board of Governors of Southwest Florida Water Management
District did on July 11, 1973 by Order No. 73-1D declare that a water short-
age exists within that part of the District described as the south three
miles of Pasco County and the north eight miles of Pinellas and Hillsborough
Counties lying between State Road 55 (U.S. 19) and State Road 45 (U.S. 41),
WHEREAS notice of water shortage and notice of hearings has been duly
published as required by law, and
WHEREAS such Board, at a public hearing duly and properly held before
it at its regular meeting on August 8, 1973, has heard reports from its staff
and taken testimony from others present relating to the conditions as they
presently exist within the water shortage area,
UPON CONSIDERATION the Board finds as follows,
1. That a water shortage continues to exist within that part of the
District described as the south three miles of Pasco County and the north
eight miles of Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties lying between State Road
55 (U.S. 19) and State Road 45 (U.S. 41).

accelerated during daylight hours, resulting in unnecessary waste of water
during such daylight hours.
IT IS, THEREUPON, ORDERED AS FOLLOWS:
1. No person, firm or corporation who uses water, a part or all of which
is supplied by withdrawal from a water shortage area which exists within that
part of the Southwest Florida Water Management District described as the south
three miles of Pasco County and the north eight miles of Pinellas and Hills-
borough Counties lying between State Road 55 (U.S. 19) and State Road 45 (U.S.
41), shall irrigate within Pinellas County, Florida by means of sprinkling or
spray-type irrigation during daylight hours. Daylight hours shall mean that
period between sunrise and sunset each day. Violation of this order shall be
punishable as provided by law.
2. Adoption of this rule is necessary for immediate preservation of the
public health, safety and general welfare.
DONE and ORDERED this eighth day of August, 1973.
