FROM: W.B.Smith
RE: Current Status of District Order 72-4 for Month of September, 1973

The subject order deals with the regulation of Pinellas County's Eldridge-
Wilde Well Field and is directed toward establishing sufficient data collec-
tion and testing to enable proper management of that Well Field.

The following is a summary by item required by the subject order.

Item 1.
Plans and specifications for five salinity outpost monitor wells
have been accepted and approved June 14, 1973.

Item 2.
a. The subject well is under construction and close to completion.
b. The shallower of the two wells has been completed and the deeper
is approximately 25% complete.
c. The subject rain gage was placed in operation March 12 1973.

d. The subject wells have been constructed and are being monitored.
e. The subject construction is under contract but not under way at
this site. This work is contained in the same contract referred
to in a) and b) above.
Item 3.
This testing is programmed for October when sufficiently stable
conditions exist.

Item 4.
Reports on the progress toward compliance with these orders have
been verbally submitted on a weekly basis and the most recent
written summary has been that for the month of August, 1973.

Item 5.
Continued evaluation and development of regulation is currently
under study.

Monitor well construction has been hampered by numerous electrical storms.
Although it is somewhat behind schedule, progress is considered reasonably
