WHEREAS the Board of Governors of Southwest Florida Water Management
District did on May 14, 1975 by Order No. 75-1D declare -that a water short-
age exists within that part of the District described as that part of the
District encompassing the Alafia River Basin, Hillsborough River Basin,
Northwest Hillsborough River Basin, that part of Pinellas-Anclote River Basin
north of S.R. 584 and east of Highway U.S. 19 and that part of the Peace River
Basin in Polk, Hardee and DeSoto Counties; and
WHEREAS notice of water shortage and notice of hearings has been duly
published as required by law; and
WHEREAS such Board, at a public hearing duly and properly held before
it at its regular meeting on July 9, 1975, has heard reports from its staff
and taken testimony from others present relating to the conditions as they
presently exist within the water shortage area.
UPON CONSIDERATION the Board finds as follows:
That water levels in the area are improved due to recent rainfall but that
a water shortage continues to exist within that part of the District described
as that part of the District encompassing the Alafia River Basin, Hillsborough
River Basin, Northwest Hillsborough River Basin, that part of Pinellas-Anclote
River Basin north of S.R. 584 and east of Highway U.S. 19, and that part of the
Peace River Basin in Polk, Hardee and DeSoto Counties, hereinafter referred to
as "Water Shortage Area."
IT IS, THEREUPON, ORDERED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Order No. 75-1D,as amended, is continued in effect.
2. That all users of the water resources of the Water Shortage Area,
including those persons served in whole or part by public water supplies operated
by the Pinellas County Water System and the City of St. Petersburg Water System,
together with the users located within the Water Shortage Area described, are
, urged to continue to conserve water whenever and wherever possible.
3. Notice is further c .ren that the Governing Board o, nc Southwest Florida
Water Management District will hold hearings to consider staff reports and other
testimony offered at each of its regular meetings and at any special meetings
called for such purpose so long as the water shortage exists within the area
described. Notice is further given that the Board holds regularly scheduled
meetings commencing at 9:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at its
official headquarters on U.S. 41 located approximately seven miles south of
Brooksville at which times the Governing Board of Southwest Florida Water
Management District will consider the matter of water shortage in the area
and take such actions and impose such restrictions as may be deemed necessary.
Every reasonable effort will be made to give notice of any special meeting tQ
all persons who file written request for same with the District.
