The Alafia River Basin consists of parts of Hillsborough and Polk

The Hillsborough River Basin consists of parts of Hernando,

Each of these Basin Boards prepares its own annual budget for the

inclusion in the district budget. Funds for each basin are handled
under the combined budget but separately accounted for by basins.

Meetings of the Basin Boards are presided over by a member of the
Governing Board of the district as ex officio chairman of the

in case of a tie. He serves as the liaison officer of the district
in all affairs in the basin.

Governing board members are appointed for four year terms. Basin
Board members are appointed for three years. All are appointed by
the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Senate.

Basin Board members serve without compensation and are required
to file disclosure statements, etc.
