RE: Analysis of HB 1213 and HB 1375

We do not currently have enrolled copies of these bills, but the
Clerk of the House is sending them to us and they should be here
by tomorrow.

HB 1213 increases the per diem from $25.00 to $3.00 for employees
and authorized persons traveling to conduct State business. The
original bill allowed per diem for travel outside the State of
Florida and included conventions, conferences, or other business
within the the activities which would merit per diem payment. I
believe these provisions were deleted by amendment. I will tell
you more definitely when I receive the enrolled copy.

HB 1375 removes the requirement that the travel agencies obtain
an annual permit from the Department of Administration to do
business with the State for transportation requests. It changes
the agency which has rule making power for travel by public
officers and employees. Again, I will give you more accurate
synopsis of this bill when I receive the enrolled copy.
