Re: Lower Hillsborough Flood Detention Area

Dear Mr. Kelly:

We are in receipt of a letter copy from Senator Hodges to the Jacksonville
office of the Corps of Engineers commenting on subject project, probably
in regard to the soon to be published General and Detail Design Memorandum.
Attached to the letter are two interoffice memorandums from Dr. R. 0. Vernon
and Mr. Bruce Johnson, perhaps written by members of their staffs. Contents
of the memorandums seem toindicate a possible lack of undrstandina of the
Lower Hillsborough Flood Detention Area Project and how it relates to other
area projects. In view of this apparent situation, we would like to invite
Dr. Vernon and Mr. Johnson and/or members of their staffs to come down to
our Brooksville office, or we will meet them in Tampa; and we would be happy
to give them an orientation tour to help better understand water management
activities planned by SWFWMD in the Tampa area.

We look forward to hearing from you on this matter.

Very truly yours,

C. H. MILLER, P.E.
