The Florida Department of Environmental Regulation announces a
public meeting to which all persons are invited.
DATE AND TIME: March 27, 1981, 10:00 A.M.
PLACE; Room 405, Twin Towers Office Building, 2600 Blair Stone
Road, Tallahassee, Florida, 32301.
PURPOSE: To receive evidence regarding adoption of a general water
policy as part of Florida's water use plan. This notice is being
given pursuant to Section 373.036(5), Florida Statutes, which
requires notice 90 days in advance of hearing. Notice is also
being given to each board and in each affected region. The Depart-
ment will be noticing public workshops on the draft rule and will
also provide a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking at least 21 days prior
to the noticed hearing on March 27, 1981.
AVAILABILITY OF INFORMATION: A draft of the proposed rule may be
obtained from the Department's Office of Public Information at the
Department's offices at the above address or from the five water

Pursuant to Section 373.036(5), Florida Statutes, the Depart-
ment gives notice to the Governing Board of its intent to adopt a
portion of the State Water Use Plan. The portion of the plan the
Department intends to adopt is General Water Policy Guidance for
the Departmen Wer Mana Districts. The hearing will
be held a 0:00 a.m. on March 27, 81, in Tallahassee, Florida
at the Depar ment '-- on the 4th floor of the Twin
Towers Office Building at 2600 Blair Stone Road. The hearing will

As you know, the Department has been coordinating this plan with
both your technical and legal staffs and will make every effort to
develop a plan which is useful to the Department, the districts
and the general public. In addition, we are very concerned that
the plan provide a long-term protection for the State's valuable
natural resources, especially its water resources.
Attached is the most recent draft of the proposed rule and a
copy of the notice which was run in the Florida Administrative
Weekly as well as in newspapers in each district. It would be
appreciated if you would have some copies of this draft available
for public inspection or copying at your office.
