-:. c AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT AND THE SOUTH-

:_ WEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO

S- CHAPTER 72-299, LAWS OF FLORIDA.


I --.::.Pursuant to existing laws and in contemplation of the

S: laws to take effect July 1, 1973, the Department specifically

-, authorizes Southwest Florida Water Management District and

Upon motion by Mr. Dickinson, seconded by Mr. Christian, and

Ij without objection, approval was granted to authorization of powers

and duties to Central and Southern Florida Flood Control District

and Southwest Florida Water Management District (copy of statement

outlining these powers and duties is attached hereto as a part of,

these minutes.) .

Pursuant to Section 17, Part I, Laws of Florida, the Department

may specifically authorize the governing board of a water management

S district to carry out certain powers and'duties prescribedj..by

Chapter 72-299, Laws of Florida, in addition to the other powers

and duties allowed it by law. The proposed delegation of authority

for additional powers and duties to the subject Districts has been

"coordinated with and approved by the two water management districts

concerned .


DIVISION OF MARINE RESOURCES

Item 7 .

Consideration was given to authorization for staff to proceed
in the establishment of a coastal construction setback line in St. Johns

County, in accordance with Section 161.053, Florida Statutes.

Comprehensive engineering studies and topographic surveys have

been completed inSt. Johns County in accordance with the above

statutes. Based on the results of these surveys and studies, the

S. staff finds that the establishment of a coastal construction setback

i line is necessary for the protection of the upland property and the

control of beach erosion. .

Upon motion by Mr. Christian, seconded by Mr. Dickinson, and

without objection, said authorization was granted.
