SUBJECT: PROPOSED DIVERSION FROM THE LITTLE NANATEE RIVER
FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT'S MANATEE COOLING RESERVOIR

Dear Mr. Feaster:

This letter is to outline the plan for diversion from the Little
Manatee River for the subject project that we understand is ac-
ceptable to the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

The plan for diversion would employ a pumping station with a max-
imum capacity of 165 cfs. The diversion rate would be limited to
32, 38, and 47 percent of the river flow at river flows of 100,
150, and 200 cfs with no diversions reducing the river flows to
less than 40 cfs during all months of the year except August and
September, During those two months diversions would be restricted
to 80 percent of the river flow in excess of the average minimum
flow (112 cfs being the average minimum flow for August and 97
cfs being the average flow for September) or to the 32, 38 and
47 percent restriction, whichever is more severe. Plate DR-1
enclosed graphically illustrates the diversion limitations.

K If there are any questions concerning this matter, please con-
tact us.

Very truly yours,

BROWN & ROOT, INC.
