SOUTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT

RESOLUTION NO.

REALIGNING COASTAL RIVERS BASIN

AND PINELLAS-ANCLOTE RIVER BASIN



WHEREAS, the SOUTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT,

hereinafter called DISTRICT, was created under Chapter 61-691, Laws of Florida, and

authorized to carry out the provisions of Chapter 378, Florida Statutes; and



WHEREAS, the powers, duties and functions of the DISTRICT under Chapter

61-691, Laws of Florida, were incorporated into and carried forward under Chapter 373,

Florida Statutes and known as the Water Resources Act of 1972, as amended; and



WHEREAS, the District Governing Board under Section 5, Chapter 61-691,

Laws of Florida, Section 373.0693(1), Florida Statutes, is empowered to designate sub-

districts or basins, and m~ay change the boundaries of such basins except the Green

Swamp or create new basins by resolution; and



WHEREAS, in 1981 the COASTAL RIVERS BASIN was created by Resolution

Number 768 by the District Governing Board; and



WHEREAS, subsequent evaluation and investigation of hydrologic data of the

COASTAL RIVERS BASIN and the PINELLAS-ANCLOTE RIVER BASIN indicates they

have similar water management problems and hydrologic characteristics and that their

water resource projects could be more efficiently managed if lands acquired by the

respective basins were within the boundaries of the basin or watershed acquiring lands;

and

WHEREAS, the PINELLAS-ANCLOTE RIVER BASIN BOARD desires to

acquire a parcel of land within the COASTAL RIVERS BASIN and have it become part of

the former basin or watershed jurisdiction and incorporated into the boundaries of the

PINELLAS-ANCLOTE RIVER BASIN and the COASTAL RIVERS BASIN BOARD has no

objection to the acquired lands being transferred.



NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that at 11:59 p.m., December 31,

1982, the parcel of land formerly located within COASTAL RIVERS BASIN is deleted

from the COASTAL RIVERS BASIN's jurisdiction and merged into the PINELLAS-

ANCLOTE RIVER BASIN of the SOUTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT

DISTRICT with legal descriptions of the two basins to be as set forth in Exhibits "A"

and "B" shall be under the jurisdiction of and shall be administered by the respective

Basin Board within whose boundaries the lands are located.
