Bryan Lounge was named for Williams Jennings Bryan who raised funds used to build the University of Florida's Florida Union. Bryan was the cousin of Nathan Bryan, Chairman of the Florida Board of Control and United States Senator from Florida.
The Florida Union became the Arts and Sciences Building in 1967, and was renamed Dauer Hall in 1975 for Dr. Manning Dauer.
