Dear Mr.Adams:-

Havana,Aug.28,1914,regarcing claim of Arpajon to ten caballerias of
land which had been included! by IfoCormack in our Survey of 1072 cabal-
lerlas.Heredia and Lamar say the ten caballerias belong to Arpajon,
and advise making deed and avoiding law suit(which would open up the
whole question of surveys,title,etc.).I have therefore written Lamar
as per enclose' carbon.
I shall hope to hold the matter off until Hannonai and I visit
Baraeoa in January,the reasons being more than obvious.
I am writing Miayo,as per carbon enclosed,to let me know at once
Just where this ten caballerias of land is situated, end Owhat ic on it.
I am also writing Mayo to keep as small force as possible at work keep-
ing what trees we have in good condition,and thereby making the plan-
tation self-supporting,as far as possible,until such ti te as we csa
reasonably raise the money to carry out the developments agreed upon at
Directors Ioetin, July 21st,1914.The European var mrist quict before our
folks down this way will have rmch spare money.l :onxtime e Ve st do the
best we can,and try to lay plans to help Lezar and Heredia in their ef-
foats regarding the minerals.
Rinehart tells me that the Pauls have not yet paid in their 31500
to the Pool.Maybe some of your friends would like to oore inThis is a
good time to see Mr.Crooke.*if he is still Inolined to invest in Taco
Rinehart tells me he is mailing Cotton a cheek forO I."Assessment
fund in his hands,less of course the $500,00 which he is to pay Suarez
as agreed.,
