decades the prime, often
the only, representative of
an entire continent,
Africa, and a world

his family was Christian

What Should We Know
About Angels?

Are angels a fad, a
trend, or are they real?
Angels seem to appear in
so many aspects of our
lives today -- literature,
jewelry, postage stamps,
stories, television shows,
historical anecdotes, art,
religious practice, biblical
studies. Attention to
angels seems ubiquitous.
So absorbed in angels is
the general population
*that this current interest
borders on angel mania.

Understanding Islam (Part 4)
The Arabic Factor
By Bassam M. Chedid

In'our last article we
discussed the question:
"What are the religious
duties required by
Muslims? We found that
Islam is a religion of laws
and acts and
performaneca of good
deeds in accodrance with
the principles derived fro
its two main sources: the
Quaran ands Sunnah.
Antithetically, the
central and most
distinctive aspect of the
Gospel is that salvation
comes through Christ
Jesus, who offers His own
life as substitute for the
guilty. His death made
eternal life possible. The
guilt of those who trust in
Him is removed, and they
are adopted into God's
family as "heirs of God
and co-heirs with

Christ,"(Rom 8:17).
"All the children of
Abraham deserve peace."
Thus spake U.S. President
George W. Bush in a
pronouncement on the
White House" His
biblical reference
highlighted one core
element of the agonizing
and tragic dilemma that
has stymied Middle East
peacemakers: Arabs and
Jews both claim Abraham
as their ancestor.
Both Arabs and Jews
claim Abraham as their
forefather. The Torah says
Abraham is ours; he is our
father-the father of Isaac
and Jacob maintain the
Jews. They emphasize
what they see as divine
given entitlement
including land and

doctor, who said, "Your
daughter has leukemia.
You need to get to St.
Jude Children's
Research Hospital very
quickly."
Suzi stayed at St. Jude
with Julie while I
traveled back and forth
to work at the zoo and to.
take care of our other
daughters, Kathaleen
and Suzanne.
At the hospital, one of
the hardest things for me
was to meet kids who
were not there when I
returned. Seeing those
parents lose their little
children, I told myself I
would always help St.
Jude.
Hospital founder
Danny Thomas once
visited Julie when she
wasn't doing well. She
had staph infection,
pneumonia and
leukemia-not a good
combination. As long as
I live, I'll never forget
what Danny told me. He
said, "You know, Jack,
the greatest day in the
world would be when we
wouldn't have to have
this hospital. That means
there would no longer be
a need for it, because we
had found a cure."
In 1995, Julie had a

Angels are no myth. They
are a very evident and

massive brain tumor,
which led to brain
surgery and a long
recovery. The odds were
low that anyone who
went through that would
graduate from college.
But Julie returned to
college and finished her
degree. It was a great
feat.
When I help raise
money around the
country for St. Jude, I
often hear people say,
"St. Jude is great, but we
don't have to do much
any more because there's
a cure for leukemia." I
tell them, "Until the
oldest living survivor of
childhood cancer lives a
normal life, we have to
keep working."
I am involved in
saving animal lives
because of my passion
for wildlife, but I am just
as involved in saving
human lives. Last year, I
helped David Karam
with a St. Jude
fundraiser at the
Columbus Zoo. A son of
the late S. Robert Davis
came up to me and said,
"I want to give you a
check." He handed me
$100,000 for the
hospital. It was one of
the greatest evenings in
my life.

PATIO DINING MON SAT LUNCH & DINNER

LITTLE THAI CUISINE in Sandy Springs is a little jewel of an Asian restaurant
While it manages to do many things well, it really shines when it combines
authentic flavors of Thai cooking with some delicious quirky nods to American
tastes.

THE SCENE: Tucked away in Sandy Springs Circle, in the same strip center as
Brooklyn Cafe, the space feels relatively upscale yet comfortably convivial. Out
front, the popular patio is secluded enough to make it a pleasant place to dine.
Inside, the look is artful and understated with wood carvings and stone waterfall
fountains. They harmonize with the pale wood, gold color scheme and Thai
wooden tables, which are inset with glass shadow boxes filled with a variety of
dry noodles and spices.

THE MENU:.Those same spices, as well as a bounty of fresh herbs and
vegetables, come into play in the expansive menu of excellent traditional
dishes, such as Pad Thai, Thai basil roils and spring rolls, and curry of all
descriptions. But what's more interesting is the chefs take on some seemingly
Southern staples; fillet of trout is covered in roasted almonds and served with
apple sauce.

The kitchen and servers are also joyfully flexible. Recently, we substituted sea
bass in a Pad Ped kitchen special. It was sauteed With basil, Thai eggplant and
a spicy peppercorn sauce a magical melding of strong flavors presented with
charming edible carrots in'the shape of butterflies. We also loved the melt-in-
your-mouth Roti Indian-style pancakes served with Thai coconut-curry dipping
sauce.

Perhaps the most surprising and subtly imaginative dish can be found hiding on
the dessert menu. It morphs a Thai staple (coconut) and an American classic
(cake) into one of the most delicious coconut layer cakes I've ever tasted.
Decoratively plated with a "watermelon slice" made of kiwi, mango and
strawberry purees, the golden cake is made con leche moist with coconut milk,
covered in fresh cream and shredded coconut, and topped with a cherry and
sprig of mint.

Big flavors, friendly service and some unusual touches make this neighborhood
Thai a worthy destination.

life from his youth in
Lebanon through seventy
years of his life as an
American, which was
dominated by family
and business. In 1920's
after an arduous journey
with his mother and
brother from Beirut to
Ellis Island, they
arrived in Covington,
Tennessee, the sleepy
town on the Mississippi
River. where his father
had gone years earlier to
establish a better life for
his family.
Remaining in
Covington, Oney reared
three sons with his wife,
Adkle, while continuing
to develop the grocery
store he ha inherited
from his father. "With a
combination of
progressive thinking
and a simple slogan,
'Everything Good to
Eat,' Oney brought
innovation to the
grocery business,
selling the first bottles
of milk and first loaves
of bread in Covington
and proudly rolling out
the first shopping carts
the town had ever seen."
But it was the
importance of getting an
education that he
stressed to his sons.

Jimmy Naifeh,
Tennessee Speaker of
the House, has carried
his father's high regard
for education to his
work in public service.
Collaborating with
Tipton County's chief
executive and the
superintendent of
education, Speaker
Naifeh helped bring a
branch campus of
Dyersburg Community
College to Covington.
The Jimmy Naifeh
Center is in its fourth
expansion. Speaker
Naifeh has also
attracted numerous
businesses to Tipton
County that provide
thousands of jobs to the
area's residents. Perhaps
the Speaker's greatest
inheritance ftom his
father was his
fundamental political
philosophy, "Everyone
should have a job and
enough to eat," which is
one that serves him and
his constituents well,
for providing education
is impossible without
jobs and food on the
table.

The market-oriented

fruit. Following a
sharp slowdown in
growth in 2006 Algeria

robust expansion of
5% or so, which was
mainly attributable to

Last year, the inflation

is expected to
accelerate to around
5% this year, driven by
rising food prices.
Moreover, Algeria

reports sizeable
budget surpluses
equalling roughly 12%
of gross 'domestic

the surpluses flow as

FRR funds have partly
been used to redeem
Algeria's foreign debt,
reducing it from
around 58% of GDP in

The country's

how it looked at the Paris
summit--sponsored by
President Nicholas

the aim of creating a
Union among
Mediterranean nations

Barely 10 days into
his nation's presidency of
the European Union
(EU), the French leader
ruffled some feathers by
launching the summit,
with great pomp and

attended by 43 heads of
states and governments,
many of whom appeared
wary of the French
president's plans,
wondering perhaps
whether the new venture
would threaten their
stature or undermine
their regional ambitions
and global polices.
The German
Chancellor Angela
Merkel objected to the
original UPM format
that excluded EU
member "countries not

Becoming suspicious of
the French hijacking the
foreign policy of an EU
in which her homeland
has invested heavily for
decades, the German
leader, in Thatcher mode,

Once Sarkozy

Angels
(continued from page 11)
prominent especially in
the Church's official,
liturgical prayer -- the
Liturgy of the Hours and
the Mass.
Angels are an obvious
reality of religious history
and of biblical study. This
popular outburst of
interest in angels leads us
to learn the role of angels
in the Bible and their
meaning for us today.
Mention of angels
abounds in both the Old
Testament and the New
Testament. Christians do
not look to pop news to
learn more about the
angels.
The word angel comes
from the Greek angels,
which means messenger.
The word is applied to
both human and divine
messengers. In the Old
Testament the Hebrew
word mal'ak is rendered
angels, and refers to both
human and heavenly
messengers. In several
instances in the New
Testament angels refers to
humans, but the word
usually means heavenly
beings. Though our focus
is on angels as heavenly
beings, the Bible itself
employs a wider use of
the term:
The angels serve are
messengers of the Lord
and servants of the Lord.
They help to bridge the
gap between humans and
God.
Note that the names
often given to angels
point away from the angel
and back to God. Michael
means "Who is like
God"? Raphael means
"God -heals." Gabriel
means "God is strong."
Theses angels are
representatives of God's
active presence in our
world.
The Catechism of the
Catholic Church teaches,
"Christ is the center of the
angelic world. They are
his angels." (#331). There

is a clear impression that
some early Christians
gave too much attention
to angels, and that some
New Testament writers
addressed that point. Is
this a message for us
today?
Last year pollster
George Gallup, a devout
Episcopalian, reporting
the results of his national
survey, highlighted
concerns among the
clergy that angel mania
"may be detracting people
rom proven paths to
spiritual development"
and that "pop culture
visions of angels impede
a deeper development of
spiritual values to nourish
the soul." (Emerging
Trends).
What does this mean
for us today>? Here are
some conclusions we can
glean from the Bible's
teaching on angels.
First, we should focus
more on God than on
angels. The Lord sends
the messenger who
delivers the message or
performs the action.
Angels come from God
and should direct us back
to God.
Second, we need to
place the great trust in
God's active presence in
our lives. God's angels
remind us that we are not
along. God is always with
us. God wants to protect
us from harm.
Finally, we can see
Jesus as God's messenger
and servant. Though not
called an angel, Jesus is
the one sent by God into
our world. He is the
presence of God in our
daily life, and expresses
God's concern for the
lowly and the needy. In
Jesus, God "has visited
and redeemed his
people." (Luke 1:68).
We can celebrate
angels and the important
truth theu communicate to
us: God wants to be
intimately involved in our
everyday lives.

Islam
(continued from page 11)
has been focal in Jewish
consciousness throughout
history. (The Jewish Mind
1977 p.18).
Moreover, Jews claim
that God promised
Abraham and his
descendants a land from
the river of Egypt to the
great river
Euphrates"(Gen 15:18).
Jews were not the
only people who
maintained to be the true
descendants of Abraham.
Muslims also maintain
that Ibrahim(Abraham)is
the first
"Hanif"(monotheist
Muslim). Moreover, he is
the father of Ismail
(Ishmael), the progenitor
of the Arab race including
the prophet Muhammad.

Muslims also came to
heighten their claim as
descendants from the
Patriarch. The Quran
incorporates several
events in the life of
Abraham similar to those
found in the Bible.
Nevertheless, a number of
narratives are added in the
Quran such as
Abraham's travel to
Mecca with his son
Ishmael and building the
Kaaba (Quran 2: 125-
127); quarrels with idol
worshipers (Quran 21:51-
57); argues with his father
(Azar) against idolatry
(Quran 6:74). It is
important to keep in mind
that Muhammad's skillful
borrowing-in the process
of the formation of Islam,
from previous traditions
later became the heart and

Saint
(continued from page 15)
The first step occurs at
least five years after a
person's death, when local
church .officials determine
the person lived a life
virtuous enough to
warrant further study. If
cause is found to continue
investigation, that person
is designated "venerable."
. The second step,
beatification, requires
verification of a miracle
attributed to the person,
DeLuca said. "It has to be
beyond a certainty of a
doubt that something
supernatural occurred."
Once beatified, the
person is given the
designation "blessed."
The third step is
canonization, in which the
term "saint" is granted to

the individual, DeLuca
said. Attaining that title
requires further
investigation of the. saint's
life and the performance
and verification of a
miracle occurring after
beatification.
Does that mean the
person is worshiped by
Catholics?
No, DeLuca said. It
means the saint is with
God and can intercede on
people's behalf. Most
important, it means the
saint's life has been
deemed worthy enough
for emulation.
"The church is saying,
if you follow their
example, I promise you'll
end up with them in
Heaven," he said.

announced plans to
boost oil production
from 1.3m barrels a

increase gas
production to 85bn

However, this would
further reinforce the
already dominant
position of the energy
sector in the Algerian
economy. In 2007, the
energy sector
accounted for 97% of
Algeria's goods
exports, 81% of fiscal
revenues and 46% of

Since this blessing

objectives at present is
to foster
diversification of the

High hopes are

The question of how

E ur o p e a n
Commission president
Jose Manuel Barroso felt
that the momentum
created by the UPM
would help identify
'additional resources'.
There is little evidence,
however, that the launch
of the proposed
cooperation projects was
sufficiently focused to
bridge the huge
development gap in the
region; especially the
average annual income
per capital of $26,000 in
the north, compared to a
paltry $7,000 in the

south.
"The population of
southern Mediterranean
countries will increase
by 100m people by
2030," -crowed Egypt's
long serving President
Hosni Mubarak, who
chaired the summit
jointly with his French
counterpart. Such a
prospect represents a
considerable challenge
for a Europe that is
already facing strong
migratory-pressures from
the south.
Carrying his iced
water bucket of realism,
Sweden's chief diplomat
Carl Bildt, told
journalists that while he
welcomed "a more
ambitious avvroach" to
the Euro- L
Mediterranean
cooperation, he felt
obliged to warn that the
launch of the UPM was
- "not going to change the
world" overnight.

in connection with the

exhibition gave Middle

platform on which
worldclass physical

Strength sports have'
always held a special
place in Arab and
Persian cultures. Some,
such as Iran's
'Zurkhaneh'--the name
means 'House of
Strength'--go back to
19th Century Persia,
their practice being as
much a spiritual ritual
as a programme of
strength exercises. In
its modern day practice
religious overtones are
prevalent, the
combination of
physical push-ups,
dervish-like dancing
and the juggling of
heavy wooden clubs
considered as much a

spiritual cleansing as a
physical workout.
Undertaken in an
octagonal pit and
practised by
individuals or groups
of bare-chested
practitioners ,
Zurkhaneh is both a
personal and
combination activity.
In a country where
Olympic wrestling has
a large popular
following, the practice
of Zurkhaneh exercises
are considered a
necessary warm-up for
the more serious sport
of one-on-one Olympic
combat. That its
practice is allied to
historical traditions
only adds to its appeal,
the seeking of spiritual
enlightenment as much
a part of everyday life
as that of seeking good
health.
The universal appeal
of 'pumping. iron' is
best illustrated by the
fact that even in
violence-wracked Iraq,
new gyms catering for
young men interested
in building up their
bodies are springing up
and proving highly
profitable business
ventures..
"The demand, for this
sport increased after

Unlike in the West
where women are as
much part of the
bodybuilding scene as
men, the pursuit of
muscular bodies in the
Arab world is
restricted to males.
Few if any women's
muscle competitions
are held; the spectacle
of muscular women
parading their bodies
on a stage before a

would be social taboo.
However, that is not to

from Egypt, Spain,

in this highly
professional event held
in the scenic tourist
location. Notable was
the fact that Syria and

Egypt were placed first
and second in the team
competition, with
Spain taking third.
Televised live by Saudi
and Syrian television,
the competition, under
the patronage of the
prime minister of
Syria, Dr. Mohamed
Nagy El Otry, featured
a professional array of
spectator events in the
5,000 seating capacity
Al Assad sports centre.
Personal interviews
with many of the
winners were featured
in television
programmes, proving
hugely popular with
Arab audiences across
the Middle East.
Men's professional
bodybuilding is a
highly individualistic
activity requiring an
athlete's constant
attention to nutritional
and training
disciplines, thus
requiring a steady
source of financing.
Now that modern
gymnasiums are part
and parcel of every
tourist hotel in the Gulf
States, Arab
bodybuilding
practitioners are more
able to utilise the most
modern of equipment
in pursuit of their
dreams, this satisfying
one part of the
equation required for
international success.
With contests such as
the Dubai International
Bodybuilding
Championships now
also paying substantial
cash prizes to the
winners, more and
more young Arab
bodybuilders are sure
to gravitate to the sport
for both its physical

Algeria
(continued from page 26)
from any sort of
settlement.
The International
Monetary Fund
recently confirmed
that Algeria had made
progress in reforming,
its underdeveloped
banking sector since
Khalifa Bank
collapsed in mid-2003.
Six state-owned banks
continue to dominate
the market; combined,
they control 83% of
total banking sector
assets. Since these six
banks continue to
grant loans to
unprofitable state-
owned companies,
non-performing loans
account for over 30%
of the total loan
portfolio. Moreover,
compared with
neighboring Tunisia
or Morocco,
businesses still have
insufficient access to
bank loans because of
the Algerian banks'
thin capital base. Cash
transactions dominate
the business world.
Over the past few
years, however,
foreign banks have
discovered the
potential offered by
this underdeveloped
market. Their interest
focuses on .the
privatization of Credit
Populaire d'Algkrie,
which has been
postponed until the
end of this year. This
is the first major state-
owned bank scheduled
to be turned over to
private hands.
Algeria has a
managed-float
exchange-rate regime,
and the central bank
uses it to keep the
exchange rate of the
dinar relatively stable
vis-a-vis *the US
dollar. Last year, the
central bank had to
intervene on several

occasions to prevent
the dinar from
appreciating
excessively against the
benchmark. Mainly-
because of the costs of
importing foodstuffs
from the EU, the
central bank will
tolerate a steady
appreciation of the
dinar vis-a-vis the
dollar again in the
current year. Last year,
Algeria's foreign
exchange reserves
surpassed the $100bn
mark thanks to strong
revenues from the oil
and gas sector;
together with
comprehensive capital
controls (except on
foreign direct
investment) they
ensure the stability of
the currency. The
Algerian stock market
is one of the newest
such markets
worldwide, and is still
in its infancy with
barely a handful of
listed companies.
Algerian companies
still prefer to obtain a
listing on foreign
stock exchanges for
example in London or
Cairo. The bond
market has already
reached a slightly
more advanced stage
of development. This
is mainly attributable
to several trenches of
issuance, mostly by
state o w ned
companies, during the
past few years
(examples include
state-run petroleum
company Sonatrach
and state-run energy
utility Sonelgaz, but
also Cevital, a
privately owned food
company). By
internati o nal
standards, though, the
market is small and
illiquid, and access is
limited to the local
financial institutions.

Party
(continued from page 20)
The UPM is likely to
face the same pitfalls
which bedeviled the
Barcelona Process,
launched in 1995 as part
of wider efforts to revive
the EU's Mediterranean
volicv. L ,' especially the
antagonism and deep-
seated tension between
Israeli and some of her
neighbours.
In Paris a quarrel
developed between the
Israelis and their
Palestinian peace
partners on the use ofthe
expression 'nation state' to
describe Israel. Nothing
new to an EU still facing
the same difficulties of
working with a southern
shore undermined by
internal rivalries and
controlled by leaders
more concerned with the
survival of their regimes.
One of the highlights
of the gathering was
30, cameras catching
president Mubarak
warmly embracing
Israeli prime minister
Ehud Olmert, while
turning his back,
purposely it seemed, on
the Syrian president
Bashar Al Assad. To
some observers, the
gesture seemed to
confirm the months-old
whisper concerning the
Egyptian leader's
exasperation with the
Syrian president.
However, the French
invitation provided a
"a./

golden opportunity. to
help Assad break out of
the isolation imposed by
an international
community that
suspected his hand in the
assassination of
Lebanon's nationalist
prime minister Rafiq Al
Hariri in 2005.
Whether by design or
accident, the failure of
both French and Syrian
officials to carefully
choreograph Assad's
movements with seating
plans provided television
camera crews with
footage reminiscent of
some sort of wacky
reality television show.
For Israel's Ehud
Olmert, the French
vacation came as a brief
respite from growing
unpopularity at home,
and a police
investigation into a
corruption scandal. TV
cameras followed the
Israeli leader positioning
himself, several times, in
his Syrian neighbour's
line of sight or even in
his path, only for Assad
to turn away quickly and,
at one point, bury his
head fast into his
Blackberry thumbing its
keyboard nervously to
the background of
television' journalists
conducting their football
match like live
commentary. Olmert, in
response, would cheekily
turn to the cameras
lifting his arms and
shrugging his shoulders.

17 May 1996. It produces
3,000 barrels a day (b/d),
sent to a small kit refinery
built in Suleimania from
the spare parts of a sugar
factory.
It is not clear when Taq
Taq entered the industrial
age. Did Jalal Talabani, in
his capacity of secretary
general of PUK, negotiate
a deal with Genel Enerji, a
Turkish company, on 20
January 2004, a few weeks
after the capture of Saddam
Hussein, as it is officially
written? Or was it signed in
July 2002, several months
before the American
operation in Iraq, as some
sources claim, when the
Kurdish region had still no
official status? Either way,
all sources agree that it was
a political deal--a
particularly generous one--
with a clear aim: to mollify
-_the Turks and bring them to
accept the idea that the
Kurds could produce oil
and export it through
Turkey.
Genel Enerji is a front
for a Turkish

conglomerate, Cukurova
Holding--with no oil
experience; in July 2005, it
linked up with Addax
international, a Swiss-
Canadian oil company, and
formed TTOPCO (Taq Taq
Operating Company).
Six wells have since
been successfully drilled,
each with a production
capacity of 16,000-37,000
b/d. More wells are
expected to be drilled in the
second half of 2008 when a
new modem rig is brought
in. Production should then
reach 100,000 b/d which
would enable the Kurds to
export their oil. "We joined
forces with a Turkish
company," says engineer
Hoshyar Nuri Abbas, the
Taq Taq field manager, "to
find the key."
At the other end of
Kurdistan, near Zakho, in
Badinan, a region
traditionally controlled by
the KDP, the second main
Kurdish political party,
DNO, a Norwegian oil
company, is also about to
produce oil. After signing a
contract with the Kurdish
government of Erbil in
2004, it struck oil with its
first exploration well,

Oil Emirate
(continued from page 33)
The INOC law was
written by a committee
made up of Oil Ministry
officials who consider that
foreign oil companies
come to Iraq "to steal Iraqi
oil",and do not want to hear
of Production Sharing
Agreements (PSA). They
decided that most of the
oilfields--in fact 93% of the
reserves--would be
allocated to INOC. "If 93%
is allocated to INOC, what,
do you give me," says
Ashti Hawrami, "then there
is no need for an oil and gas
law ... This is totally
unacceptable."
Ashti Hawrami spent
two weeks discussing with
Prime Minister Nouri Al
Maliki the issue of sharing
revenues. At the end of
June 2007, it was agreed
that all revenues, including
the revenues of the Kurdish
region, would go to a single
account, and that the
central government would

take its share for so called
"sovereign expenses",
including expenses for
foreign affairs and defence,
approved each year with
the budget by parliament.
The Kurdish region would
get its share--17%--the
remainder being
administered by the central
authorities, and going to
the other regions of Iraq if a
federal republic is set up
and if other regions are
created.
Then came a new twist.
The draft of the oil law was
sent to a "shura council"
made up of experts of the
Ministry of Justice which
decided that the law should
be consistent with an
eventually amended
constitution and which
altered the draft. Several
pages were taken out from
the agreed draft. "Here we
stand," says Ashti-
Hawrami, "the Kurdistan
region's rights have been
deleted, and the INOC law
is still under discussion."
"We accepted a

compromise," adds the
Kurdistan oil minister,
"with the creation of an oil
and gas council entitled to
review our contracts. But
we want a law that respects
the Iraqi constitution.
Article 112 is very clear.
We are partners with the
federal authorities, we are
not second-class citizens.
Decisions are not to be
taken in Baghdad. If an
oilfield lies in Kurdistan--if
it is a new one--we sign the
contract. If it is an old one,
which may be allocated to
INOC, we are partners in
its management."
Two years after the oil
law was first discussed,
there is still no agreement
on a text to be approved by
the -Iraqi parliament. In
February 2008, a new crisis
erupted between Baghdad
and the Kurdish regional
government. First,
Baghdad wanted to
allocate only 13% of the
budget to the Kurds. Then
it agreed to allocate 17% as
previously agreed, but it

questioned the number of
peshmergas whose salaries
and pensions should be
financed by the central
government--the Kurds
quoting a figure of 90,000
peshmergas, while
Baghdad said their number
should be no more than
30,000.
It looks as though both
sides have given up the
idea of agreeing an oil
law, and the Kurdistan
Regional Government is
signing new contracts
with independent small
oil companies, while
Baghdad is starting
discussions with some
majors for the
development of its
southern fields. ,
"We want to produce
up to 1m b/d in a
maximum of five years,"
states Ashti Hawrami.
"We also want to be self
sufficient in terms of
refinery." Does it mean
the Kurdistan Region will
soon be like a Gulf
Emirate?
