'J;', : By Lt(Jg)T.A.Cresclmanno, VP-4S PAO Jax-Cdr.Tom Golder and Ens.Rick White from VT-2 NAS Whiting,arrived here recently on a T- 28 cross-country hop. . n t + Training flights are usually pretty routine,but this particular flight had a special meaning for the two participants.It . was a homecoming for two former VP-45"Pelicans". . 1'r GF .7tt Cdr. Golder,now VT-2's commanding officer,was a member of VP-45 from 1965 to 1967, deploying am to Adak, Alaska. . Ens.White was a"Pelican"from 1968 to 1970 as an AW3 before enrolling in the NESEP program at North Carolina State University. He graduated and was commissioned in the class of 1973 and began flight training in Pensacola last September. When Cdr. Golder learned Ens.White had been a "Pelican",he suggested that they make the trip here during the Day Navigation phase of training. Ens.White will soon be leaving Whiting for the multi-engine syllabus at NAS Corpus Christie and, who knows,might be coming back to VP-45 again as a PPC. ., ,.. . f ,'J1f.' The action stems from a judicial ruling that restored a previously delayed pay raise.A . pay hike for military people and white collar civilian workers had been scheduled to take effect Oct. 1, 1972 but it was delayed by Executive Order until Jan. 1, 1973. r p M That Order was subsequently reversed by the U.S. Court of Appeals and the differences due for that three-month period will be paid to those military and civilian personnel who were eligible to receive the raise at that time.
