Planning Dispatcher attached to Air Operations, has been selected April's NAS
Jax Serviceman of the Month.As .

:, Flight Dispatcher, he provides technical assistance for the Operations Duty

l Barringer re-enlisted in the Navy a year ago after nearly ten years of broken
service. While awaiting Air Controlman "A" School, he was assigned to the NAS

:.... t: .1. Jax Air Traffic Control Facility where, according to a letter nominating him for
.j .. 55 the honor, "extraordinary motivation and determination to make the best of his

continued in this vein by finishing second in both "A" school and Ground

Controlled Approach "C" school. Upon his return three months ago, he was
reassigned to duty in the Flight Planning Branch of the ATC Facility.

"Through diligent self-effort.the quickly re-qualified in all aspects of the

.. .1.1&S < Facility's operation and is now cited by supervisory personnel and pilots alike
: 'SA for his conscientious execution of assigned duties, indicative of his exceptional
dedication, zeal and initiative.

"Moreover, he gives unselfishly of his time and talent in training new

F n dispatchers. By example, he has been extremely effective in motivating them to

do their best, as well as towards their making a favorable adjustment to the
naval service."

For winning the Serviceman of the Month honor, Barringer will receive a free

dinner at the Candlelight Restaurant, a trip to St. Augustine courtesy of the

Jacksonville USO, and a free weekend at a local motel.
