Friendship Fruit . By far the easiest method is to have a friend who is into "Friendship Fruit," which is sometimes called "Brandied Fruit," give you two 11L cups of starter. It is increased by simply adding a cup of sugar and a cup of drained canned fruit every two weeks. Most any fruit Is acceptable ', favorites being marischlno cherries, peaches, pears, mandarin oranges, pineapple tid-bits, and fruit cocktail. It should be allowed to ferment for one month before removing any of the mixture. For starting from scratch you need a fifth of brandy, four cups sugar r and four cups of fruit. Every two weeks add up to four cups each of - sugar and fruit. One month after starting the fruit is ready to eat. After that add a cup each of HS-1 after 20 years of active duty. Both HS-1 and the Fleet Aviation Specialized Operational Training sugar and fruit every two weeks. Group cited Petty Officer Holifield for his many contributions to the Navy and their commands Once it is started never allow your mixture to be reduced below during his career three cups. Portions of the fruit may be chilled for serving, but the portion that is to continue fermenting should never be refrigerated. This 'Dragons' end ASW exercise is an extremely colorful concoction when allowed to ferment loosely covered in a large glass jar in full view in a warm spot in the kitchen.
