AW3 Ben Bryant of HS-5 was on his toes the
night of March 9 and two young men are facing auto
theft charges because of it.

Petty Officer Bryant, who works part time at a local
service station, noticed something that seemed a bit
unusual when the two men pulled into the station and
asked for gas.

When he asked them to stop the car, the young men
had to pull engine wires to do it.

Then Bryant noticed the key was missing and decided
it was time to call the police.As .

he placed the call, the pair decided they were in
trouble and tried to escape on foot.

Their escape bid was in vain, however, and they were L L
in police custody within fives minutes. &
Apprehension was so fast that the car was never .

I reported missing. Its owner had been at church and THE NAVY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL is presented to Senior Chief Builder Clair A. Hazen (Right),

citation accompanying the award. Senior Chief Hazen was cited for his efforts to ensure that
