STAMP CIRCLES t .+
By Albert B. Close 1

JERUSALEM, Israel-For a nation under seige, it is t WW k !
extraordinary that three new stamp' series of outstanding I

quality are circulating in the January mails I I

here.

The Israelite love of philately is apparent in the 1J1_
electric colors and originality of design these three sets

project. The usual use of tabs with Hebrew and English
'
inscriptions once again make for variety and interest. {
The Arbor Day series of 1 argorot, 35 argorots, and 2 E t .' '

pounds have designs with pop-art bright colors in t 4 fr

images of children, plants, trees and a bird. The tab
inscriptions are from the Song of Solomon:

.01 "The winter is past, the rain is over and gone..."

.35: "The flowers appear on the earth, the time of 1 9
,singing has come..." A I

2.00: "Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the I -

fields..." t

commemorative done in psychedelic-like style. The tab
