BY DEBORAH BUCKHALTER

The stra, cat w which was expecting kittens, had frequented Mary -
Heath's neighborhood for months, nabbing food Heath had put out
for her own animals. On' Sunday, the cat came to her screen door,
meow ing' persirenly. Heath, who loves animals of all sorts, went
outside to see what the fuss was about.
SUnder a piece of tin. she found the stray's newborns.
When she tried to pick one of them up, she lifted all four off the
ground. That's when she realized they were conjoined.
She rescued them and is now keeping them in a box in her bath-
room. But they can't survive % without further intervention.
Heath said she wants a veterinarian to volunteer his or her serv-
ices in an attempt to separate them and save their lives.
They've somehow worked out a way to arrange themselves well
enough to feed from their mother. But Heath knows a crisis is upon
them as they grow.
She figures they'll all be three-legged when the operation is
done, but believes they can have a good quality of life in the right
households. She said she raise a three-legged cat in the past, and
that he seemed content. If she can't find anyone else willing to
adopt any of them, she said she'll give them a home herself, if she
can just get them the medical attention they need.
She said she's tried without success to interest various organiza-
tions in their plight. Heath can be reached at 272-2143.

"The foot bone's connected to the...head bone!"
At Dr. Kurpa's office we know how the feet are the
foundation of the entire spinal. pelvic structure. Any
fQn arch or misalignment in the feet can cause pain
(now or later) in the knees, hips, back or neck and
even cause them to wear out prematurely. Many spinal
conditions are actually the result of feet that are poorly
supported, and we can fix that!
We Now Have The Associate" Platinum from
Foot Levelers. The Associate Platinum is a digital scanner that
examines your feet and each of the foot's three arches. It prints
a color photo of your feet to show where you may have issues
that could affect the rest of your body. We then can recommend
customized Stabilizers made just for you!
