y J. J. FInley Chapter, U. 0. C, and
Mildred Lee Ohapter.
An agreeable entertainment was
eu Wednesday afternoon at the
residence of Mrs. W. B. Taylor, iu
honor of the visit of the State Presi-
dest of the United Daughters of the
Confederacy, Sister Esther Carlotta,
to the J. J. Finley Chapter.
In the receiving line were Mrs. W.
U. Taylor, Mrs. J. L. Kelley, Sister
Jfether Carlotta, Mrs. H. H. McCreary,
Mrs. J. M. Taylor and Mrs. J. W.
Tench.
Owing to limited time no special
program had been prepared for the
occasion. After opening with prayer
from the ritual of the United Daugh-
ter~ of the Confederacy and singing
of the State song, 'Way Dowp Upou
the Suwannee River," the president
addressed the ladies present upon
certain memorialsi in which the
Daughters are interested. She brought
before them in a clear and forceful
manner the needs of these memorials,
and especially urged a more syste.-
latliu contribution frome the chapters
to the Okld Soldiers' Home in Jackson-
ville. Sister Bsther Carlotta told the
chapter bow highly one of ite mem-
bers had been honored at the recent
general convention of the United
Daughters of the Confederacy. In
Houst"h, Texas, in having elected
Mrs. 4. W..Tench an honorary presi-
dent. kor life.
.D behmeano of sandwiches and
coffee were served by the oestess,
after which the.chapter adjourned to
accept an Invitation to a similar enter-
tainment by the Mildred Lee Chapter,
Children of the Confederacy, at the
residence of Mrs. J. D. Stringfellow.
The bright, happy children in their
dresses of white, with red and white
badges, made a truly lovely picture.
The president addressed them along
somewhat the same lines as to the
mother chapter. The enthusiasm of
the children was shown by presenting
Sister Esther Carlotta with a souvenir
of the occasion, a handsome gold
thimble.
Delicious refreshments were served,
and the little children departed to
their several homes, after many ex-
pressions of delight.

THE METHODIST REVIVAL.

Rev. Christian Delivered Great Ser.
mens at Servicees Yeeterday.
The evangelistic services under the
leadership of Dr. Christian and Prof.
Milanm continue to increase in Inter-
est.
Yesterday morning Dr. Christian
delivered an able sermon on the sub-
ject, "The Midnight Need,'. and the
,nipr.tihion was profound.
LaIt night the services were un-
usually interesting. After a half.
hour song service led by I'rof. Milanl
and the large chorus choir. Dr. Chris-
tian delivered a great swrmon. Sub-
jecft "A Little Religion In a )anKger.
ous Thing." go deep was the ai-i
preesion as to be almost painful in
ts lasaifeUtatiou. In the light of this
'ret sermon it would seem that
adue-testhe of the church members in
(alnesvelle are ia great danger.
This morantag the preacher's tbeme
will be 'The liportualty in Prayer."
ad all who are laterested in the
imbject of prayer are urged t, to.b
present at this service.
Theae great evangelists hav, lbesn
wonderfully blessed nla their labor in
other places, having led thousands
late the expertesce of a better itfe.
sad tihe same grarious results will
follow their labor if the people will
give them p hancc.
Rverybnd> is cordially iut tied to

Cott e Is Not a Substitute for?,

No animal product, such as hog lard ever has afforded, or eWr t
faction to compare with Cotlent. It is ftr superior to lard becau'
fat, and its purity is unquestioned. It is more economical than butter I
frying because, being richer, one-third less is required. '

Cott lee is made from cottonseed oil, a fluid extracted from the -see
cotton. From Cottonield to Kitchen- human hands never touch the oil fro6
Cotto/exe is made. '"

Pies, doughnuts and cakes cooked with Cotto/tne can be fearlessly enjoyed by 4
most determined dyseptic, for Cotteulne makes food digestible as well as palatable.

There is no substitute for Cottelet, because'there is no shorten-
ing as good as CsIent. It is pure, clean, neutral in taste and flavor,
and absolutely the purest and most healthful frying and shortening
medium.
