Mr. Kennedy's visit to Tampa and of tho way he
t f: completely charmed his Suncoast audiences. It is impossible -
to understand the senseless! waste of his death. We
have heard people say-somewhat' smugly-that they
were glad it didn't happen here. It could not have been less
devastating-anywhere and we sympathize with the
"people of Dallas whose city has had its name blotched by
the maniacal act of one individual.It .

is fitting to commend, as !we do the vast chains of
news media for the tremendous job of coverage they did
in presenting to a ,profoundly affected American public the
circumstances: of the tragic death and burial of our president -
He would communications systems rose to the occasion-particular
ly the networks of television, a medium which he, himself,
used with great skill and which he was known to appre-
ciate and enjoy tremendously.
