themselves to undercover police officers at Northeast
Recreation Park, 413 NE 16th Ave., Gainesville police

for sexual violations at the park and the surrounding
wooded areas. Local residents and park employeestold

With snowballing support from students and faculty,
students who want to ban tuna on campus will meet
with the Food Service Advisory Committee today to
review possible alternatives to the tuna now sold by
Gator Dining Services.

Although 8.2 percent of all tuna caught is yellow fin,
which is used in most brands, UF's Environmental
Action Group and Students for the Ethical Treatmentof
Animals want Gator Dining Services to slop buying
tuna (from any company who use dolphin to locate tuna
herds. The dolphin often are drowned or crushed in the
nets that capture tuna.
On March 9, EAG and SETA presented a film and

Service's Food Service Advisory Committee. The com
mittee delayed announcing its decision on the proposedban
until Gator Dining Services Director Wes Miller

estimated 220 tuna sandwiches per week, Miller said.
Two possible alternatives investigated by Miller were
replacing tuna with filcher, a fish that tastes like tuna,
or switching to a brand of tuna deemed "dolphin-safe"
