He also read the book Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs to the students. He was an amazing speaker, said PreK-K coordinator Naomi Anderson. Our unit of study was on weather. We have learned about the dierent types of weather, how to dress for the weather, how important math is when relating to weather, the science involved in weather and the people who study weather. Our students have been watching the weather report at home as part of our home connection activity as well. Mr. Buresh gave the school a shout-out on the news later that evening, she said. The group, led by band director Matt Jernigan, consists of advanced middle school band members who practice after school and perform at special events in the community. Saturday night was like being on Bourbon Street in New Orleans during the Christmas Season, said Naomi Anderson, who attended the concert that included jazzy impressions of Jingle Bell Rock with a solo by Erica Flakowicz and Cameron Blow, both on saxo phone; Dashing Through the Snow, White Christmas, Hot Chocolate from the lm Polar Express, an excerpt from The Grinch movie and many more. Silver Sneakers celebrate at YMCAThis group of regularly exercising senior citizens, who dub themselves the Silver Sneakers, gathered the morning of December 13 to celebrate Christmas with their trainer Samantha Pepitone (5th from right, front) at the Baker Family YMCA. The group meets every week, as it has for eight years, for regular exercising at the Y center on Lowder St. in Macclenny. During warmer months, they take to the nearby county pool for water aerobics.
