ileranda, Holly Hill Inn

HIS wide, long, inviting veran-
9 da in plain view of the Dixie
Highway is seen and known
to thousands of travelers from the
country over, who have made Daven-
port and Holly Hills their Mecca.
Cool and pleasant in the summer,
warm and comfortable in the winter,
this friendly piazza has halted the way-
farer and cried, "Here's a welcome"
to the tourist. It means to those who
made THE HOLLY HILL INN a lodg-
ing for the night, hospitality and good
cheer. To those who have made THE
HOLLY HILL INN their home for a
week, a month, or longer it means rest-
fulness, recreation, healthfulness and
happiness.

'Dixie Highway entering Davenport
F THERE is anything in the
psychology of first impressions,
then surely our parks and boule-
vards will make you ours from the mo-
ment you motor within the city limits or
alight from your Pullman.
They breathe a welcome; they invite,
they reach out to one, they impress you
with their beauty, and captivate you with
their friendliness.
They extend through Holly Hill
Groves located on the gradual rise to the
west and north that overlooks the city of
Davenport and it's sixteen lakes, and as
well give you a beautiful view of the pic-
turesque country extending farther north
and south.
These things contribute to make the
HOLLY HILL INN homelike and beauti-
ful.

~ergola and '1ose garden

AVENPORT is at all seasons of
the year a veritable floral
kingdom in which beds of
red radiance and white roses, magnifi-
cent hedges of oleanders lining the
highways for miles with their pink and
white blossoms, the Japanese hibiscus,
with its wealth of gorgeous colors, and
a profusion of Bignonia Venusta and
brilliant Poinsettias, all play leading
parts in the decoration of Davenport
and Holly Hill landscape.
Many people are making Daven-
port their headquarters in Florida, en-
joying themselves at the HOLLY HILL
INN, motoring through this great
orange belt and tarrying long enough
to get acquainted.

Obstacle Golf-
Inn Grounds

HERE is an outdoor
sport for every one in
Davenport. Golfers
between rounds on the Holly
Hill Course, just a stone's throw
away, indulge in Obstacle Golf
on the Inn lawns. Interesting
both to the old-timer and the
beginner.
It is a significant fact that
visitors to the HOLLY HILL INN
regularly return and recommend
this unique Inn to their friends.
Thus has been built up a notable
clientele.

Holly Hill golf Course
ERE two hundred acres are de-
voted to the playground of
those who love the ancient
game of golf. Constructed under the per-
sonal supervision of John R. Van Kleek, of the
firm of Stiles and Van Kleek of Boston, and
landscaped under the direction of J. P. Dunn,
landscape artist to the Holly Hill Grove &
Fruit Company, you have all that you desire.
Few courses could have the advantages of
this beautiful setting. Few courses could be
so attractive in the diversity of the scenery.
There is always some one anxious to go the
rounds and the spare bag of clubs never hangs
idle on its peg in the lobby. Bring along your
clubs. Meet our professional, Tom C. Dobson,
who hails from Merrie England and learned
his golf under Douglas Edgar, none better.
Late of the Belevue Country Club, Melrose,
Mass. Was instructor for the Bowler Golf
School of Boston and professional to the Cross-
land Heath Golf Club, Huddersfield, Eng-
land, on the other side.

R IF the primeval forest calls you, put on
your hiking clothes and come into Ever-
green Forest, a park set aside amid Flor-
ida's native tropic land. Here you will find wild
orchids, palms eighty feet in height with resurrec-
tion ferns growing in their tops. You wonder what
giant planted them there. And grapevines hang-
ing from heights of sixty feet. You see Florida as
left by the Seminole Indians; reserved for our
guests in all its natural beauty.

cA 'Bedroom
(UNSHINE-FILLED out-
side rooms, solid, un-
interrupted, dreamless
slumber-that is what the sleep-
ing rooms of the HOLLY HILL
INN insure.
Well ventilated, well appoint-
ed, every room a symphony of
form and decoration. Thou-
sands of travelers between Jack-
sonville and Tampa say they
wouldn't have missed the restful
comfortable nights at the HOLLY
HILL INN.
A good bed, a long sleep and
an appetizing breakfast in the
morning!
