 Notes
General Note: The Cuban struggle for independence from Spain in the 1890s affected Spaniards living in Tampa in different ways. Although small, the Spanish colony of Tampa was by no means homogeneous. It ranged from prominent cigar manufacturers and successful merchants to salaried workers, from radical anarchists to conservative defenders of Spanish Cuba.
Funding: Funded in part by the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), Ephemeral Cities Project.
