 Notes
General Note: On 1 August 1907, Leo started the Gottsegen Cigar Company, a cigar manufacturing business, with his partners Max Stark and Sam Lefkowitz and $5,700 to form a capital stock of $10,000. The business was located in the Lower East Side at 130 Maiden Avenue. I. In 1918, Leo moved the business to Tampa and the name was changed to the Gradiaz Annis and Company (note that "Gradiaz" is a Spanishization of "God's Blessing!). From that point onward, Leo was listed as the president of the company and Julien B. Annis was vice president, secretary and treasurer.
