Abstract:
On verso: Front side of picture as written--Right hand top of tresle. from which engine left the rails, a small saddle tank--Rogers Engine, with the front end of engine under water and mud. Picture shows rear view of coal bunker. Frank Green, of Utica N.Y., was the conductor, but was scared speechless! No one was seriously injured, EJN, Engineer, walked 11 mile out to Mt. Hope for help. The engine that jumped the track and laid down on me in the French Canal Channel at Cristobal--May 16, 1914. --E.J.N. 3 x 5 inches
