 Notes
Abstract: The University of Florida Libraries funded a project that allowed student assistants to create library instruction videos for their fellow digital natives. The students were charged with brainstorming ideas and developing content to produce twelve videos highlighting library services and resources such as: printing accessing the library virtual private network (VPN) using course reserves and interlibrary loan downloading mobile apps moving the compact shelving Although librarians supervised the video creation team, the students were largely self-directed and worked autonomously designing and producing the videos. The videos “live” on the UF Libraries’ YouTube channel and are archived in the UF Institutional Repository. Librarians incorporate the videos in their subject guides by embedding HTML code from YouTube.

The University of Florida Libraries funded a project that allowed student assistants to create library instruction videos for their fellow digital natives. The students were charged with brainstorming ideas and developing content to produce twelve videos highlighting library services and resources such as:
 printing
accessing the library virtual private network (VPN)
using course reserves and interlibrary loan
 downloading mobile apps
 moving the compact shelving
Although librarians supervised the video creation team, the students were largely self-directed and worked autonomously designing and producing the videos. The videos "live" on the UF Libraries' YouTube channel and are archived in the UF Institutional Repository. Librarians incorporate the videos in their subject guides by embedding HTML code from YouTube.

PROMOTION
Once the students wrapped production, librarians uploaded the videos to YouTube. The videos are archived in the UF Institutional Repository for preservation. Library staff embedded the videos into
subject guides to supplement face-to-face instruction.
The first year experience course at UF, First-Year Florida, integrated the videos into their library instruction sessions. These students took surveys to help us determine the videos' value as learning objects and as products of peers
teaching peers library skills.

I'm a student AND I work at the library :)
I like sharing what I know about the library!
I understand my friends' issues with the library because I have them, too.
My classmates ask me questions about the library all the time.
My peers understand my assignments better and they explain things in my own terms.
I'm afraid my questions are stupid :(
I have trouble with library stuff!
I trust what my friends tell me about the library.
