This session features three different ensembles. It begins with a fife and drum group performing instrumental tunes, followed by a scratch band performing instrumental tunes interspersed with speeches and banter, and concludes with a calypso group. R0oger Abrahams and Antoinette Marchand are the interviewers on this session. Brown Girl in the Ring excerpt: "...Christmas Day you visit your grandmother. No work. You had Maypole too. The Maypole was organized by the few Spanish people in our midst, Granadien Spanish. There was a chorus and an orchestra od drummers, guitar players, and fiddlers. Le Roi Victor would compose his own songs, about village experiences and "comesse" (scandels), and there would be lots of eating and rum drinking in the fashion of the old Grenadine "cheerup"…"
