color film of Standard Oil's
(N.J.) products in use.
Filming location will be the
lagoon and waters of the La-
go concession.

color and clearness of the wa-

From Traffic Accidents...
Thousands of children each year are vaccinated against var-
ious infectious diseases. They receive polio shots, tetanus shots,
and to enter school, the required small pox vaccination. This
sanitary campaign undoubtedly is important to protect the
health and life of your child.
Unfortunately there is no vaccination and there never will be
one to protect your child from one of the major dangers of
modern times: traffic accidents.
Nowadays, children are taught traffic safety at school. This
training, no doubt, has helped your children understand traffic
safety better and has taught them to obey traffic rules. They
have become more confident in the street and can take some
necessary precautions.
But, how then do you protect the child that goes to school for
the first time? The following steps may help make your child
more secure on his way to school:
* Show him the safest and shortest way to get there, teaching
him to look left and right before crossing. Insist that he use the
route you have indicated.
* Get him ready for school in time so he doesn't have to rush
to get there.
* Teach him to be patient. Stress upon him the importance
of waiting.
* Set a good example and don't take risks. Your child will
imitate most things you do.
Help your little one to become safety conscious and you won't
have cause to worry.

R. E. (Eddy) Muller Passes Away


R. E. (Eddy) Muller, Lago
Public Relations Administra-
tor, died at his home in Oran-
jestad, August 25. He was
forty-seven.
Eddy was originally em-
ployed in 1936 in the Account-
ing Department. In 1940 he
joined the local military serv-
ice where he rose to sergeant.

He returned to the Account-
ing Department in 1945 where
he progressed to materials
clerk II two years later.
After a break in service, he


returned to Industrial Rela-
tions Department in 1952 as
instructor. He subsequently
held the positions of job ana-
lyst, personnel assistant and
in 1959 was named chief job
analyst.
His career in Public Rela-
tions began in 1960 when he
was named public relations
assistant. He was promoted to
division head Public Rela-
tions in 1965. Since February
1966, Eddy had been Lago's
Public Relations Administra-
tor.
Eddy was active in various
community organizations. He
was member of the Aruba
Lions Club and assistant sec-
retary of the Sports and Con-
gress Hall Association. He
was past member of the Aru-
ba Table Tennis Association
and the Amateur Baseball
Bond Aruba and had been sec-
retary of the Aruba Sport
Union.
He is survived by his wife,
Luisa.

Driving Requires Extra Attention

Now That Kids Return To School


If you drive to work and
your route takes you by or
near a school, you have very
good reasons to be extra alert
this month.
Schoolchildren! Recently
classes were resumed and
over 18,000 children are
swarming the streets in the
morning, during the lunch
hour and in the afternoon
when school is out. This is
the time when you have to be
very careful at school cross-
ings and school zones.
Although Traffic Safety
Training at school has given
the kids improved instruction
of the traffic rules, you can
never be too sure. When
children are at play they for-
get many things, including
their own safety. Suddenly,
and without warning, they
may run in front of your car
and you have to be able to
react quickly to avoid an ac-
cident.
A special reason this month
to be extra careful is because


little kids are going to school
for the first time. Especially
if they're not accompanied by
an older child, drivers should
expect almost anything from
them. They may be excited,
nervous or bewildered by this
new experience and you are
the one who has to watch out
for them.
Another hazard is the child
sporting his new bike. He
might do some unpredictable
things like veering into your
path or pulling some crazy
stunts to attract his friends'
attention.
Be prepared for kids step-
ping out of school buses or
darting from between parked
cars.
To be on the safe side, drive
slowly near the school zone
and be prepared to give the
children a "brake".
Keep your eyes open and
expect the unexpected this

The terrific pace of modern
living allows little time for
reminiscing. Most people are
so busy with present-day pro-
blems and those they antici-
pate that they tend to neglect
the past.
Buildings fall in this area of
neglect. Many historical points
of interest are taken for
granted. So that future gen-
erations can fully enjoy and
appreciate them, they should
be restored before they are
beyond repair.
Esso has thus come to the
aid of Holland's most famous
landmarks the fast disap-
pearing windmills. It has un-
dertaken a six-year program
to restore six windmills in the
area of Slochteren, the site of
the large natural gas find.
Once there were 80 of them
in the area, but only six are
left. Of these only one is be-
