What Can Help Reduce Besides a "Sense Accidents, including traffic acci- dents, just don't happen because of just bad luck! In most cases, they are caused. This may be because of human or material failures. Human errors are mostly caused through in- attention or negligence and not so much because of ignorance. Safe driving, first of all, requires a great dosis of "sense of responsibi- lity" for yourself, your family, for the other driver, for pedestrians. Your sense of responsibility tells you what to do or not to do : .... If you are not qualified to drive, don't venture on the road. .... If you drive, don't drink if you drink, don't drive. .... Check your car brakes, lights, Especially on a curve, don't commit er- rors so that you have to "borrow" space from the other lane. Traffic Accidents of Responsibility?" horn, tires if they are in proper condition. .... Adjust your speed to road and traffic conditions. .... Give proper traffic signals and ON TIME. .... Don't pass other vehicles where or when such is prohibited. .... Look always where you're going, also when reversing. .... Use your mirrors frequently to observe cars moving behind you. .... Use your horn when the situa- tion so requires. .... Keep the windshield clean for proper view. .... Remember that roads are slip- pery when wet. .... Don't drive when you are sleepy, feel drowsy or dizzy. .... Maintain safe braking distance from the car in front. .... Watch out for pedestrians, espe- cially children and oldsters. .... Be extra careful for bikes, mo- torbikes and motorcycles. .... Don't blind other drivers with your sharp lights. .... Observe all traffic lights and traffic signs. ....
