Marion Octavia Wheatley better known as
"Tavie" was born on January 10, 1902 in East
End Tortola. She attended East End Methodist
School where she eventually became a teacher
and taught for many years. She was the mother
of two children, Carl and Florentine.
She was skilled in many areas of handicraft.
In 1958 she moved to St. Thomas to join
her family where she made many friends. Wherever
she lived; she was either known as "Mother"
or "Granny". She was always dependable and
could be called upon momentarily, and willingly
she responded eagerly. She will be missed greatly
by all who knew her, mad cannot be replaced.,
