JANUARY 3, 1926* NOVEMBER 17, 1997
Carmen Gordon-Bray Webster known as Carmen was born to
Beatrice Allen and Eric Gordon in New York City on January 3, 1926.
She was the third daughter of her parents who had emigrated to New
York from Jamaica, West Indies. She was educated at the St. Charles',
Stitt, and George Washington schools in New York City completing her
high school education and went on to attend Dietetic school..
Carmen was well educated and well read and always seemed a
fountain of wisdom, knowledge and experience. She was an avid writer
and has several yet unpublished books of poetry.
Carmen had 18 good years of marriage with her first husband James
Bray, and 8 with her second husband James Webster.
She loved helping, sharing and shepherding her fellow man and she
was devoted to sharing the message to all who knew her and many who
did not.
Her qualities of organization, faith, determination and strength were a
support to her many friends and family. As she would often say she
liked her "Ducks in a Row."
She loved the Lord.
In her life we found strength.
In her death we know life.
Carmen is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grand
daughter, sister, nieces, nephews and many other loving family and
friends.
Well Done Thou Good And Faithful Servant.

COD IgNOWS BEST
GOD KNOWS BEST IN EVERYTHING.
THOUGH WE CAN'T ALWAYS UNDERSTAND
EXACTLY AS WE'VE PLANNED.
FOR HE KNOWS WHEN IT'S TIME TO BRING
THE SUNSHINE OR THE RAIN.
AND AN ALWAYS CHEERFUL RAINBOW
TO ALLEVIATE OUR PAIN.
SO ALWAYS LOOK TO GOD ABOVE
WHEN YOUR SOUL IS NEEDING REST.
AND YOU WILL SOON BE COMFORTED
BY KNOWING HE KNOWS BEST.

Don't grieve for me, now I'm free.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found a place at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Ah yes these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, as I savored much.
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my times seems all too brief.
Lift your heart and share with me.
God wanted me now, He set me free.
The family would like to thank everyone, who comforted
us in our time of grief, be it by phone, a card, by prayers,
or in person. Whatever you did, we thank you.
